On January 12th, 2010, a devastating earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 rocked Haiti. Within 9 days a group of medical personnel from the State of Delaware arrived in Haiti to offer medical services.
Upon our arrival at Sam Michel Hospital in Jacmel, Haiti we were approached by a group of young students who offered their services as volunteer interpreters.
We quickly discovered that these students had significant needs and obstacles which would be impossible to overcome on their own. One area of particular importance was their education.
Their schools were destroyed by the earthquake and halted their education. They are bright young people with high aspirations and desire to use their varied talents to eventually help their country recover and grow.
